Manchester United Eye Brentford Midfielder Yarmolyuk Ahead of January Window

Manchester United could look to fix their ongoing midfield problems by returning to Brentford with a new transfer offer in the January window.

Manchester United’s Summer Spending Spree

Manager Ruben Amorim oversaw a huge squad overhaul in the summer, with United spending more than £200 million. The Red Devils strengthened their attack with the arrivals of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo, while also addressing goalkeeping concerns by signing Senne Lammens from Antwerp for £18m after Andre Onana was loaned to Trabzonspor.

Despite being linked with midfielders such as Carlos Baleba of Brighton and Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace, United failed to secure a central player to dictate games. That omission has already proven costly, with Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, Manuel Ugarte, and Kobbie Mainoo all struggling to adapt to Amorim’s two-man midfield pairing in his preferred 3-4-3 system.

Brentford Midfielder Yarmolyuk on United’s Radar

Having already lured Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford in a £71m package, United could now return to West London for another key signing. According to Ukrainian journalist Volodymyr Zverov, United are showing strong interest in Yehor Yarmolyuk, with a potential deal worth around £30m being discussed.

Zverov explained, as quoted by dynamo.kiev.ua:

"I know about the very serious interest of Manchester United in the Ukrainian footballer. United definitely need to fix the problems in the midfield.

And Brentford isn’t the club that will do everything in their power to keep Yarmolyuk, and they are ready to consider offers for the midfielder from £30m. United can be called a serious contender for Yarmolyuk."

With pressure mounting on Amorim after a poor start to the season, United’s January recruitment will be crucial. Adding Yarmolyuk could provide the much-needed energy and balance in midfield, something the squad has lacked despite heavy summer investment.
